Ralph Jones started Medina Glass in an old gas station in 1963. It seemed like a perfect hub to reach out to all of Northeast Ohio, but it was also smart thinking: Over the next two decades Medina County would almost double the size of its population providing an organic demand for its services.
The company Jones launched has grown since 1963, as has the scope of its jobs and projects. Medina Glass can tackle jobs small to large and everything in between. You might think the business at 3643 Pearl Road in Medina just does automotive glass and mirrors, but the reality is our trained craftsmen do so much more. Have a look:
From small, custom jobs …
If you think about it, every glass job is pretty much a custom job. Our talented glaziers can work with small panes of glass, cutting them to the exact size and shape, to repairing older residential windows; they can cut mirrors into any kind of shape to fix that beautiful, handheld mirror handed down generation to generation; and other glass and mirror work.
To automotive glass …
Medina Glass stocks a variety of windshields in its Pearl Road shop. Our customers are happy to discover that we work with all the insurance companies. So, if you want Medina Glass, your local glass company, to do the work for you, then just tell your insurance company’s claims service representative you want Medina Glass to handle the work. We can send a crew to you, or you can bring it to our shop. Please realize, if we are scheduled to meet you at your home or office, we might need to reschedule the appointment if it is raining, it’s too hot or it’s too cold. In order for the windshield to set properly, we have to ensure the weather conditions are right so there is no problem with the work done.
To residential glass …
We have been doing a lot of work with mirrors and shower doors. All-glass showers have become incredibly popular, and we can do the work for you.
Our crews can even fix and repair screens so you can open your windows or sit in your screened-in room and feel a cool breeze without worrying about bugs bothering you. Vice President Pat Neyhart said. “We can do a screened in porch a number of different ways. We can make the screens, or we can roll and snap screens in.”
At Medina Glass, we typically do not install new home windows, but our crews do repair those windows. And, if you have a historic home, we can replace the glass in those as well.
However, residential glass takes on many forms other than the typical home window. Because the housing market has been pretty tight, people have been remodeling their existing homes.
To specialty display cases and wine rooms …
Our talented professionals can build you a custom wine room, like they did here for one of our Medina clients, or any kind of display case, whether it is for a butcher shop, bakery, or historical society to present and protect documents, photographs, clothing or artifacts.
To storefronts and aluminum doors …
Our fabrication shop stays busy with a variety of commercial glass projects, which include aluminum doors and glass storefronts. Our fabrication shop is a licensed Tubelite aluminum door fabricator.
To large custom and commercial jobs
The work Medina Glass does covers a broad spectrum of projects from large to small. While the size of the job changes, one thing that does not is the attention to details. Whether it is designing 1,000-pound mullions that have internal steel reinforcing to hold 400-pound lites of glass, or working out the details of curtain walls, our experienced staff takes care of the finer points to make sure each job is done right. We have also done a number of auto dealerships.
