Most people don’t realize that your windshield does more than keep the wind out. Many newer vehicles have a small camera mounted behind the windshield. That camera is part of your vehicle’s ADAS system (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which powers features like lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. When a windshield becomes damaged, it needs to be replaced, and that camera has to be recalibrated. If it’s even slightly off, those safety features may not work the way the manufacturer intended.
